Bone carving is a craft that is slowly disappearing, even though it was the first skill mastered by humans. Mr Dumitrescu started out as an accountant and technician, however the financial instability of the '80s pushed him to pursue a method of survival that was rare at the time. For the past 30 years he has been carving away precious jewels and dices, out of cow bones. This minute and time consuming activity, as tiresome as it can be, represents a source of tranquility and fulfillment for the Dumitrescu family. Mrs Dumitrescu is always around, assembling jewels, presenting the merchandise and handling the social side of business.
