Mr Pârvu

After the earthquake of 1977, Ceaușescu began a systematic process of demolition. One of his targets was the stretch of land currently occupied by the People's Palace. That particular quarter, known as Uranus, was considered by most architects as the "heart of the city". Encompassing monuments and settlements dating back some 300 years, the Uranus neighborhood would have been completely wiped out had it not been for the Christmas of 1989.
Mr Pârvu lives in the remains of the old Uranus neighborhood, in Bucharest. His home is in the vicinity of sculptor Spiridon Georgescu's atelier, through which he gives us a short tour.
